For qualifying projects, the City of San José offers an expedited one-stop plan review that facilitates efficiency and consensus of design-review departments, including Building, Fire, and Planning. Users can achieve significant time savings - sometimes reducing several months of process to just a few hours. The result is 80% of projects walk out of City Hall with a permit within hours, not weeks or months. Over the past year, the STI & ITI programs have facilitated the expedited review of over 400 projects representing over $550 million of investment in San Jose real estate.

Well-known companies who have participated in the program include eBay, Apple, Qualcomm, IBM, Sunpower, SilverSprings Networks, SSL (formerly Space Systems/Loral), HGST/Western Digital, Lumentum, Phillips Lumileds, Synaptics, Therma, Quantumscape, WeWork, BAE, Jabil, Nutanix, Supermicro, Cisco, Samsung, Adobe, Broadcom, Canon, BD Biosciences, General Dynamics, Thinfilm, and Toshiba.
