Water Use Efficiency Incentives
Working with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, our Water Use Efficiency Incentives can help lower your water usage and cost.
Commercial Waterwise Landscaping Rebate
The WaterWise Landscape Rebate Program provides incentives for Riverside Public Utilities residential and commercial water customers who replace existing lawn areas with water-efficient, California-friendly plants. Customers can receive up to $1.00 per square foot for living grass (lawn) that is replaced with WaterWise landscaping suited to our region’s semi-arid climate. Due to overwhelming participation and our need to provide a rebate opportunity to a greater number of customers, the maximum rebate for residential customers is limited to 3,000 square feet and 25,000 square feet for commercial customers.
Agricultural Rates & Programs
To preserve and promote Riverside’s agricultural lands, the City offers water rates applicable to qualifying Greenbelt area customers. For Greenbelt properties with access to the Gage Canal system, the WA-8 Greenbelt Irrigation Service can help customers receive water from the canal.
Energy & Water Technical Assistance Services
In addition to rebates and incentives, Riverside Public Utilities offers tools that business customers can use to manage their energy and water consumption. Each of these services may be customized to suit your needs.
